Musalli Terms of Use

Welcome to Musalli! These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Musalli mobile application ("App"), operated by the Musalli team ("we," "us," or "our").

By downloading, installing, or using Musalli, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are under 13 years old, you may use the App only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.

1. Eligibility

• You must be at least 13 years old to use Musalli without parental supervision.
• If you are under 13, a parent or guardian must review and approve these Terms on your behalf.
• Parents and guardians are responsible for monitoring their children's use of the App.

2. Description of Service

Musalli is an Islamic prayer-tracking application designed for families and children. Features include:

• Personal prayer logging and streak tracking
• A virtual garden that grows with consistent prayer
• Local prayer-time reminders
• Optional Family Sharing between a family's own devices
• Islamic calendar and Ramadan features

Offline-first: Prayer data is stored on your device and no account is required. Data is shared only if a parent turns on Family Sharing (see our Privacy Policy).

3. Parental Consent and Math-Gate

Certain features require parental confirmation via a math-gate:

• Opening external links (e.g., the Islamic Relief charity website)
• Deleting all app data
• Starting Family Sharing

4. User Conduct

You agree not to: use the App for any unlawful purpose; attempt to reverse-engineer or disrupt the App; submit false or misleading prayer data; use automated systems to interact with the App; or misuse Family Sharing, including joining a family you do not belong to.

5. Family Sharing

Family Sharing lets a family see and log prayer progress across its own devices. A parent must start it behind the parental gate, and other devices join only with a one-time code from a parent. There is no messaging, no public discovery and no profile browsing. A parent can stop sharing and delete the shared data at any time via Settings → Delete All Data. We may change or disable this feature if needed to keep it safe or compliant.

6. Intellectual Property

All code, designs, and original content in Musalli are owned by the Musalli team. Islamic content (Quran verses, duas, hadith) is sourced from public-domain or properly licensed materials with citations.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

Musalli is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Prayer times are calculated using the adhan library and may vary based on location, calculation method, and high-latitude adjustments. Always consult your local mosque or Islamic authority if in doubt.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the App.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Musalli team from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time for violations of these Terms or for operational reasons.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the App publisher is established, without regard to conflict of law principles.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the App. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
