Musalli Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 29, 2026  ·  Last Updated: October 17, 2026

Musalli ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of children and families who use our app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information in connection with the Musalli prayer-tracking application.

1. Our Commitment to Children's Privacy

Musalli is designed to be safe for children under 13. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, including its rules for children), and Apple's Kids Category requirements.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.

2. Information We Collect

Stored only on your device

Only if a parent turns on Family Sharing

A parent can choose to share prayer progress between the family's own devices (for example, so a child can log on their own tablet and a parent can follow). This is off by default and can only be turned on behind the parental gate. When it is on, we store in Google Cloud Firestore (Europe):

Private details such as the reason a prayer was not required (for example, menstruation) are never uploaded; such prayers are shared only as "done".

No analytics, no crash reporting

Musalli contains no analytics, crash-reporting or advertising software. We do not track how the app is used.

Data We Never Collect

3. How We Use Information

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following Google Firebase services, configured for minimal data collection:

ServicePurposeData Shared
Cloud FirestoreFamily Sharing (optional)The Family Sharing data listed above, only if turned on
Firebase AuthenticationFamily Sharing (optional)A random anonymous account ID per device, only if turned on
Firebase HostingUpdate and maintenance noticesNone. The app downloads a small settings file; like any web request, this reveals the device's IP address to the server.

We do not use: push messaging (reminders are local notifications), Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In, or analytics, crash-reporting or advertising SDKs of any kind.

5. Parental Rights

Parents and guardians have the right to:

  1. Review the data (all of it is visible in the app).
  2. Stop Family Sharing and delete the shared data via Settings → Delete All Data. On the parent's device that started the family, this deletes the family's shared data; on any other device it removes that device from the family.
  3. Contact us with privacy concerns or requests at motazhamada@gmail.com.

6. Data Deletion

Go to Settings → Delete All Data, pass the parental gate, and confirm. This erases all prayer logs, garden progress, streaks, achievements and app preferences on the device and, if Family Sharing is on, deletes or leaves the shared family as described above, including the device's anonymous account.

7. Data Security

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes through the app. Continued use of Musalli after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
